four types of outputs for incremental encoders:

collector open circuit output:
collector open circuit output uses the emitter of a transistor as the common terminal, and the signal is output from the collector circuit. this can be further categorized into pnp and npn based on the type of transistor. when connecting at the application end, an external pull-up or pull-down resistor is required at the output end to switch between high and low signal levels.
voltage output:
voltage output uses an indirect pull-up resistor between the collector of an npn transistor and the power supply or an indirect pull-down resistor between the collector of a pnp transistor and ground, ensuring that the output signal high level is at a specified voltage.
push-pull output:
push-pull output contains both npn and pnp transistors. when npn is conducting, pnp is cut off, and vice versa, achieving the functions of "push" and "pull." due to its ability to "push" and "pull," push-pull output generally provides higher output power, suitable for driving larger loads or for long-distance transmission.
long line drive output:
long line drive output is typically used for high-speed, long-distance data transmission. the circuit uses a dedicated output chip, producing differential signals conforming to the rs422 standard, providing stronger anti-interference capability and longer transmission distances.
